Where it all started
Our story began after a life-changing injury that forced me to slow down and see life differently.
During that time, I bought my first narrowboat. Living on the canals opened my eyes to a way of life I hadn’t experienced before — peaceful mornings, gentle journeys, friendly faces, and the simple beauty of moving at four miles per hour.
The waterways gave me space to heal, reflect, and appreciate the quieter moments. It truly changed my perspective on what matters.
I wanted to share that feeling with others. So I created a hire boat that isn’t just somewhere to stay — it’s a home on the water. Warm, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, it’s a place where you can slow down, switch off, and experience canal life for yourself.

How it’s going
What began as one boat and a dream has continued to grow in ways we never expected.
After welcoming guests aboard and seeing how much people loved experiencing life on the water, we realised not everyone was looking for a longer break. Some wanted a shorter escape — a few peaceful hours, a celebration, or something a little different.
So Maggie May was born.
Our day boat allows us to offer relaxed day trips and themed events, giving even more people the chance to experience the beauty of the canals — whether it’s a birthday, a small gathering, or simply a gentle cruise with friends.
Watching our little fleet grow has been incredibly special, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. This journey is still unfolding, and we’re excited for what’s to come.
